Question Re: satellite system in Technology Q&A

A satellite system is simply a system being managed by Solution Manager. For example, if you had a development system, a QA system, a production system and a Solution Manager system, the development, QA and production systems are "satellite" systems to the Solution Manager system.

Steven,

Thanks for the reply.

So, can I understand the Satellite System this way:

Solution Manager is the Central System (Parent), and the all the other mySAP Suite of Products (CRM, SCM, SEM, ECC etc) are the clild systems and connected to Solution Manager for configuration and monitoring.

One more question:

Do we have the Development, Quality, Testing and Production clients existing for Solution Manager even as the other systems?

Thanks,

Balaji

I'm am still just in the planning stage for my Solution Manager installation, so you may want to ask others for their experience. We are not planning to have Dev, QA, or Test. We are planning to have what we are calling a "staging" system to test any notes or service packs.
