ABAP in Eclipse logon requesting credentials repeatedly

Hi SAP Community,

I am experiencing a persistent login loop when trying to use ABAP Development Tools (ADT) in Eclipse.

The Issue:

When Eclipse triggers the logon prompt, it redirects me to the browser. However, the logon page refuses to sign me in. When I enter my username and password, the page simply refreshes without logging me in.

What I have observed:

If I try to log in using my username, I receive the error:
"We couldn't authenticate you."
However, if I log in using my email address with the same password, it works successfully.
This setup was working perfectly until today. Previously, I was not prompted for browser login at all.

Steps already taken:

Cleared browser cache and cookies.
Reset SAP password.
Tried different browsers.

Despite these steps, the issue persists in Eclipse. It seems like the ADT logon window is rejecting the credentials or failing the authentication handshake.

Has anyone encountered this recently in ADT?

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Update ADT to latest:

Authentication failures sometimes occur with outdated ADT components (documented in SAP ADT troubleshooting guides). [community.sap.com]

Update command:

Eclipse → Help → Install New Software
