Cloud connector to cloud alm configuration

Hi Team,

We are currently working on connecting the Cloud Connector to the cloud and enabling Health Monitoring in Cloud ALM.

While reviewing the SAP Help Portal documentation, we noticed that it mentions the need to create LDAP-based user management for data collection to push data from the Cloud Connector to Cloud ALM.

Could you please clarify the following points:

Is it PERSON_NAME to implement LDAP-based user management for this configuration?
Can we assign the required monitoring roles to the existing admin user and proceed without LDAP?
If LDAP-based configuration is implemented, we observed that the admin user becomes inactive. Could you confirm if this is expected behavior?

Your guidance on the above queries would be greatly appreciated.

Please find our clarification below:

1.Is it mandatory to implement LDAP-based user management for this configuration?

No, LDAP-based user management is not mandatory for enabling data collection from SAP Cloud Connector to SAP Cloud ALM.

Cloud Connector has just one Administrator user named Administrator by default. It is possible to change the name and password of this user but it is not possible to add additional users.

To be able to add additional users to Cloud Connector, technically it is required to configure the Cloud Connector to use an LDAP user store.

2.Can we assign the required monitoring roles to the existing admin user and proceed without LDAP?

Yes. You can assign the required monitoring and data collection roles directly to the existing Cloud Connector administrator user and proceed without configuring LDAP-based user management.

3.If LDAP-based configuration is implemented, we observed that the admin user becomes inactive. Could you confirm if this is expected behavior?

Yes, this is expected behavior.

Once configured, the default Cloud Connector Administrator user becomes inactive and can no longer be used to log on to the Cloud Connector.
