Why are you using ToDate() ?
The result is already a date, so there's no need to convert it again.

Instead, use FormatDate to display the output in the desired format (M/d/yy).

...

hope it helps

What version of BusinessObjects are you using?

We are testing 4.3, SP4, Patch 13 and are finding the #ERROR message is appearing in places that work fine in 4.3, SP4, Patch 7. Our fix is to correct the formula. In our situation, the formula that is working in Patch 7 (it is surprising that it works in Patch 7) because it includes an "In()" context crossing two queries, one object from one query and one object from another query. The two queries are MERGED but it is odd the developer did this in the formula. Not sure why Patch 7 worked with this but fixing the formula to use objects from the same query in the "In()" context fixed our issue.

Also note, with 4.3, SP4, Patch 13 we have also encountered the #ERROR message in schedule results as Excel but the results appear fine when the document is viewed in BI Launchpad. Very odd.

Hi Ramesh, we have been facing with same issue almost 2 years ago, had a call with SAP and they tried to convict me thats logical and working as expected...

Create the variable similar to mine:

<LI-CODE lang="abap">=If GetPreferredViewingLocale() = "pl_PL"
Then Replace([cost];" ";"")
ElseIf GetPreferredViewingLocale() = "en_US"
Then Replace(Replace(Replace([cost];" ";"");",";"");".";",")</LI-CODE>
But in your case you have to force SAP BO to read correct Date Format. Diffrent for en_US and diffrent for en_UK.

Hope that will help!
