Question Re: SQLAnywhere 5.5 Linux ODBC driver in Technology Q&A

SQL Anywhere 5 does not have a Linux ODBC driver. The first support for Linux was introduced in 6.0.2 (See http://www.sybase.com/detail?id=1023009#asa_unix).

While newer engines (prior to SQL Anywhere 10) can host older database files, changes made in SQL Anywhere 6 to the communications layer means that you will not be able to use a newer ODBC driver to connect to SQL Anywhere 5 server.

Hi,
I have a little problem, my customer has old version of sybase sqlanywhere(5.5) and we implemented new server based on linux, which has to access data from this sqlanywhere. Does anyone know, where to get ODBC driver for linux (unixODBC)? FreeTDS works from version 6 or with openservergateway, but this is not so good solution for us.
ODBC for sqlanywhere v9 should support this old version, but im not able to find it.

Thanks for any ideas!

David
