Question Re: SQL Anywhere 12, cannot create service in Technology Q&A

Solved.
Seems you have to run the installer as Administrator or else you dont get the server and other options.

Odd, I dont think this has been the case on other installs, but likely the user permissions / setup was different.

Hi

Trying to setup a DB on a new server, when I go in Sybase Central to create a new service for the DB I get a message box with "You cannot create a service because you are running a client-only installation of SQL Anywhere"

Looking in the folder "\\prog. files\\sql anywhere 12\\bin64"
I see dbsrv and dbeng exe's are missing.

I am not selecting a client only install, indeed there is no such option, I am doing a standard install as I have done many times before.

Any ideas?

Thanks
Ivan
