Change dropdown value based on other dropdown

I have simple requirement on sap bydesign UI screen;

Let's say I have 2 dropdown objects named DD1 and DD2 and they contains values like;

DD1;

In Progress
Started
Canceled

DD2;

Not Started
Completed
Canceled

My Problem;

Based on value selected in 1st dropdown object, the 2nd dropdown value should be set automatically.

Since this is a standart screen of Lead Object, I can't use EventHandler to manipulate those extension fields. Then I tried to find a way via ABSL coding but couldn't figure out how to set dropdown values.

I use AfterModify event and tried many ways like below screenshot;

that's where I stuck. I can change values of text fields but since this is a code list object, changing values and descriptions not worked. Also I debugged the project, values are seems to changed but it does not reflect on UI screen.
