EVERYTHING WORKING FINE.
LONG TIME HAD left SAP delving 
I resumed my Fiori journey and tried VSCODE lates version with lastes tools
Was delighted!

Hello Jayanta,

We are after investigating the issue, and it looks like there is a slight difference in how we test the connection as part of the SAP Saved Systems versus using that connection in the generator :(. Sorry about that, it looks like a bug at our end that we will fix.

For info, the "Test Connection" looks for the recommended services available at the endpoint, but doesn't fallback to the legacy version, whereas in the Fiori generator it does fallback to the legacy version.

As a workaround, can you please create a Fiori project in the Generator and for the data source step, choose:

- Connect to a System

- New System

And then enter the details of your ABAP system and as long as there is a catalog service available, it should successfully connect.

Please complete the generation of your Fiori project, and the system should be saved and available for use.

Have you released a new version of Fioritools that
makes SAP Add system work?
I have edited the original question" after trying trial webIde and migration

NO Change! Same 403 Error.

Extension updated as VSCODE showed the please Re-Load notification

SAP Fiori Tools - Extension Pack v1.7.1

Some in this Pack have separate identity

Application Modeler

Guided Development

Service Modeler

XML Annotation Language Server

But Add SAP System does not

Do I need to update something else?

Ok, sorry to hear it's still not working :(. From the log above, it looks like the authentication details are perhaps not valid? Are you able to connect in the browser to the catalog request?

I have only a P-id and no S-id.

Let us close the case.

My concern was that something that worked in March April stopped.

I tried above 4 5 times. Just to be sure.

As the Odata Service method works for my trial docker it is OK for a learner like me.

I never solved the problem!
To paraphrase add system did not work for me.
What I did was to avoid ADD SYSTEM altogether and use full ODATA URL instead
This is option 2 in Generate Application Wizard

I am NOT a SAP Official user as I am a lazing techie with only the ABAP 1909 dicker that providence gave me.
If are a SAP experimental user you have no official support.

If you have official support your organization can seek solution.
But VSCODE I think will not be acceptable in real life as issue of maintenance arise.
How do you do version control? What if programmer quits?
SAP CTS takes care of binaries but NOT source code of Fiori apps.
BAS may help internal Fiori teams keep source code centrally.
If you are tasked to develop for company discuss with your seniors.
You have revived memories -- I need to spend time!
So April will try revive Fiori study.

Tried just with latest version.
Everything is working fine including Add System
