Multitenancy Extend Functionality: Upgrade Base Model and Reset?

Hi,

I'm investigating the CAP extend functionality.
There is a "Upgrade Base Model" function. In the CDS source code I see that this function expects a JSON input. What exactly does this function expect? A CSN, ...? The documentation is not clear here.

There is also a reset function. I expected that this resets all my extension in a tenant. It does this for the db artifacts but not for the sercice artitacts.
I deployed an extension to a tenant. After that I added some functionality to the service layer of the app and deployed this to my provider space. The new functionality was not available in the altered tenant.
After a reset of this tenant my db extensions vanished but the service extension not.
Any ideas?

The functionality of "Upgrade Base Model" is clear to me in the meantime. I used the REST API and saw that the tenant CAP models get upgraded to the CAP model of the provider subaccount.

Same functionality as offered by the Update function in the subscription management dashboard (https://<subdomain>.subscription-management-dashboard.cfapps.<region>.hana.ondemand.com/).

This also answers the question regarding the reset functionality for my use case. The extensions were resetted but I expected that the tenant was also upgraded to the base model. This needs to be done separately.
