Residence Rules category for Technical Archiving objects

The residence policy category has not been enabled for the following technical archiving objects in our S4 system and would like to know if it is possible and the steps for for the same:-WORKITEM,IDOC,BC_DBLOGS & BC_SBAL. We have a business requirement to define the residence rules in conjuction with the retention rules hence the ask. We are on S4 version 1909 and have activated ILM content.

you can achieve this by adding the required ILM objects to an audit area

Hi Satya,

Thanks for your response. We have performed the following steps but the Archive write jobs are not considering the residence rules. Only the retention rules are being considered:-

1. We have updated the Archiving objects via Tcode - IRM_CUST to include the residence category

2. Added the Objects to an Audit Area.

3. Configured the ILM residence & residence rules for the objects.

We are wondering if there additional steps we need to take for the residence rules to be considered.

well if you can see that a result is coming in ILMSIM, but SARA doesnt allow , then most likely

the write program of the archive object doesnt support it . you could check with SAP on this.
