Cystal Report based on SQL query

A quick question,

What do I have to do to build a report in the current trial version of Crystal Reports based on a SQL statement.

There is an option in the toolbar "create new report from Query" but this leads to a SAP logon? I don't want to connect to some SAP BW system.

Building reports on a table or view works fine for me but that's not a realistic scenario.

Who can help me out on this?

Once you connect to a database, with most you'll have the option to create a "Command", which is a SQL Select statement that should pull ALL of the data for the report.
