Question Re: Parameters to Sub Reports in Technology Q&A

Yes. There are a couple of ways to do this, but the easiest is this:

1. After you've configured your initial subreport links, edit the subreport.

2. Go to the Select Expert.

3. Add the field from the second table, "is equal to" and the customer ID parameter that's already been created.

-Dell

Parameters to Sub Reports

Hello,

If you have 10+ tables in a sub report and you pass a parameter to one table, can you pass that same parameter to a 2nd or 3rd table.

Example: Customer ID is passed to a sales table so that I will see only sales from this customer, in the sub report. The sales table has a series of left outer joins on it (1pprox. 10+). Somewhere down in the 8yh outer join, there is a table with customer ID in it. I want to filter that dataset. Can I pass the Customer ID parameter from the main report to this table in the sub report. This will mean that the sub report will have two tables that link to the parameter from the main report. is this possible?

Thanks,

Paul

That's awesome.

This means (from my previous question) that if you duplicate a table in a sub report that has a parm, you can just add the parm to the duplicated (alias) table.

Thanks...
