creating Virtual Table inside HDI container.

I have a scenario, where I want to use tables from on premise in my application deployed in SAP BTP and it uses HDI container. For now I have made the connection using Cloud Connector between BTP and on-premise, later using Remote Source adapter I am creating the virtual tables inside an schema. Then, using Synonym concept I am consuming these Virtual Table in the application.

Instead Can I create the Virtual Table directly inside the HDI container(by giving the required privilege's of HDI container to DB-admin) and use it directly.

By default DBADMIN doesn't have access to container.
You need to follow this document to setup the access first.

Thanks for the response. Yes I created HDI Admin and HDI Group Admin and I am also able to give the access to DBADMIN.
My doubt is, is it okay to directly create and use these virtual table inside HDI, instead of creating them at a different schema then use synonyms.

Actually way is to go through SDI (Smart Data Integration) using DP Agent to access the on-prem database and create VT

You can do it under HDI container also and in other schemas also.
In HDI container - It would be overhead for you if you want to undeploy it.
In Schema through synonym - There would be more control to you.

Also don't use DBADMIN user for operations, create one separate user. Assign all required access to that.
