Data Service job server setup

Hi Gurus,

I am new to SAP BODS, the designer is installed to my laptop which is considered as native client (non-server). I am able to connect to the local repository and been able to create background jobs with data flows. Yet when i try to execute a background job, i am getting the below error:

The job server is actually set up in the server machine and not in my laptop. I would like to ask if I also need to set up the repository job server of the same details below in my laptop (native client)?

When I tried to configure the job server in my laptop, entered the login credentials for the repository, I am getting the below error upon saving:

Hi Romeo,

On the client all you need is set up the database client drivers (native/odbc) that will connect you to the cms, the repositories and any other source/target databases. Just make sure you are able to ping/communicate with the job server machine from the client (consider firewalls and ports opening).

You have missed the error screenshot, so we can't tell exactly what is your specific issue.

Hi,

If you haven't done so yet, install the ASE client on Designer machine and configure the sql.ini <drive>:\<SAP_installationPath>\ini\sql.ini with server connection details. You can also use ASE Interactive SQL to test you server db connectivity outside of BODS to make sure it's working well.
