Trying the Building Apps with the ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model tutorial, in Week3 / Unit3 the new buttons "Create / Update / Delete" should be enabled. They're not.

I know it says that the trial environment may lag a bit in updates but I assume they meant something in the order of a few minutes at most. I have tried all the workarounds described in the Q&A section, like:

deleting a recreating the service binding
clearing the browser cache
changing browser (twice)

There is one suggestion I did not understand: "enhance the CDS metadata extension of the Travel entity", because that is not mentioned in the video.

What finally worked is adding an empty line in the data definition for the root view entity (ZI_RAP_Travel_abo), saving, removing the empty line, saving again and reactivating. At that point it worked, almost immediately. The view was already activated, since I had used it in the previous unit.

Is this normal?

I mean, having to touch all objects and reactivate them seems redundant.

Thanks, Alex. I've done that already, the code was copypasted (except for the XXXX replacement) from GH.

The question really is: do I really have to fake changes to dependent objects and reactivate them?

It wasn't explained in the tutorial and it seems unnecessary, yet I had to do it.
