manjunath.baburao - we are using cds-pg for a multitenant CAP sample project running on postgreSQL and are having issues with authorization post BTP deployment.

Im able to clone and drop schemas for multitenancy when developing locally using superuser postgres but after BTP deployment, we lose access to any DB superuser.

I have not found a way to to grant permissions to a new or existing cloud DB user in order to create and run procedures (clone / drop schemas). I was able to ssh tunnel into the DB and connect PG Admin but still did not have proper authorizations to create and run DB procedures on our BTP enabled postgres instance.

Am I missing something or is this a short-coming of PostgreSQL hyperscaler service?

Hi austinkloske, if this is SAP Cloud Platform - Cloud Foundry Environment, then it should be the same as if you were on HANA, I suppose. This is not a Postgre SQL on AWS or Azure, is it?

lazfreitas thanks for the reply.

I spoke with Gregor wolf on the issue and he recommended posting here & tagging Manjunath.

This is on SAP Cloud Platform - BTP - postgres hyperscaler micro-service. I do assume that database administration access and tooling will be quite different between HANA / postgresSQL.

For example, multitenancy with HANA can be acheived through SAP provided instance-manager service or through hdbprocedures that clone schemas. We're not yet to that level of grainularity with postgres hyperscaler service.

Luis yes I have, I actually mention this article in the pg-tacostand readme git page. I am attempting to expand on the previous cds-pg examples with a multitenant use case. As far as I can tell so far, it's not possible until I get DB superuser access.
