Debugging SQLScript in productive system

Hi developers,

I have a complex UDF to debug in the productive environment of our HANA1 system (it is used as table function in a calculation view - I try more precisely to debug a procedure with the same coding) and I wonder why it's not possible neither to set breakpoints in this procedure nor to create a debug configuration, like it works in the development system. Together with basic colleagues we used the information of SAP note 1942471 - New Debug Privileges for SQLScript Debugger as well as statements like

Grant debug on <proc> to <user>
Grant debug on schema <schema> to <user>

We have still no success - but only to have the possibility to debug in DEV seems to be to tricky because of missing sufficient test data there.

Are there any hints about what could be wrong and what is to be done, to debug this procedure in PROD?

Have you checked that the debugger is enabled on the required system (enable debugger - system config)?

Hi Florian,

developer_mode=true

in both inis xsengine.ini and nameserver.ini in PROD had no effects at all: no breakpoints, no debug configuration possible...

Hi Tobias,

finally it turned out that your proposed settings were correct - but only with the installation of the then latest version of Eclipse 2020-12 and the corresponding HANA development plugin the SQLScript debugger in Prod works fine and helps a lot!
