Hello Expert,

Can you please help??

While running a background job a short dump occurred in SAP System "CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR" with short text "Logon Failed CPIC CALL: ThSAPCMRCV communication rc: CM_DEALL", leads to cancellation of the job itself.

Please find below observations:

SM21 : Communication error, CPIC return code 017, SAP Return code 672 (Logon Failed)

ST22: The current ABAP program had to be terminated because it has come across a statement that unfortunately can not be executed. The error occurred during an RFC call to other system.

SM37: Internal session terminated due to runtime error CALL_FUNCTION_REMOTE_ERROR

wurth : I read your previous blogs on RFC and it were great. Can you plz guide me in this issue??

Hi Priya,

1. Could you share the background job details? if you know the RFC then check the user id status, it might have locked

2. Are you running any extraction job in you BI system? if it is yes then check the source system connection check. or refer the SAP Wiki blog https://wiki.scn.sap.com/wiki/display/ABAPConn/tRFC+calls+in+SM58+fail+with+the+error+Logon+failed
