Export Data Source DSO vs InfoCube?

Dear All,

We are implementing a smart greenfield implementation from BW7.3 to BW/4 HANA. We have a requirement to bring data from existing source system where the data is residing in an Infocube and similar data is also available from underlying DSO. From my understanding since Infocube has a star schema and DSO a flat structure for all data loading options involving millions of records isn't it preferrable to create export datasource over a DSO instead of Infocube. If this isn't the case could you please clarify the reason otherwise.

Regards

Subhash

I tend to think that the DSO will give better performances.

But the important point here, imho, is that if you want to be a 100% sure of having the same result on both side, you have to get the data from the cube (which is normally the source of your reports).

There is many reasons why you may obtain a different result when getting the data from the under layers (transformation, selective deletion at the cube level, delta issue etc).

Regards,

Frederic
