Question Re: SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.2 JAVA STACK INSTALLATION in Technology Q&A

Prashant,

I strongly urge you to read through all of the documentation and relevant Notes before you proceed any further. For one thing, it is important that you have correctly matched levels of support package stacks between your SolMan ABAP and Java stacks. This does not mean they should both be at the same sp stack level, but rather that there are specific dependent relationships between the ABAP sp stack level and Java sp stack level. Those relationships are spelled out in Note 2771041 (Solution Manager 7.2: Support Package stack levels).

Note, especially, that beginning with SolMan 7.2 sps9 the Java stack must actually be on NetWeaver 7.5, whereas with sps8 and earlier, both ABAP and Java are on NW 7.4 (ABAP remains on NW 7.4 for sps9 and 10; only the Java stack upgrades to 7.5).

Please also carefully read through the Release and Information note for your target sp stack level. For sps10 (the latest), it is 2859338 (Solution Manager 7.2 FP Stack 10: recommended corrections). You can find an overview of all the RIN Notes for the different sps levels on the PAM, which I am certain you've carefully checked before you began this exercise: https://apps.support.sap.com/sap(bD1lbiZjPTAwMQ==)/support/pam/pam.html#ts=9&pvnr=01200615320900006067&pt=g%7Cs&ainstnr=01200615324900011742.

Also, do look through all of the SolMan installation and implementation documentation, all linked from https://help.sap.com/viewer/product/SAP_Solution_Manager/7.2.10/en-US?task=implement_task.

When you ran your Maintenance Planner transaction, it should have presented you with information for both the ABAP and Java stacks, if I recall correctly.

Cheers,
Matt

SAP SOLUTION MANAGER 7.2 JAVA STACK INSTALLATION

Dear Experts,

I am using maintenance planner for the installation of solution manager 7.2 sp4. For Abap stack installation is already done with the help of maintenance planner only and i downloaded the initial Exports with the help of maintenance planner PDF file which got generated from the maintenance planner only.SO when i clicked on Download Installation/Upgrade media from SAP service Market place for abap stack then it took me to SAP Solution manager page as below and i downloaded the installation media easily.

But when i planned the installation for Java stack then i pushed all the contains to download manager. After this when i am trying to download the initial shipment and export media with the help of maintenance planner PDF again for java stack so its taking me to net weaver 7.4 download page. I am doing below steps.

then i clicked on Download Installation/Upgrade media from SAP service Market place in pdf file and it took me to below page.

I am just wondering why it did not take me to solution manager page as in case of abap and why to SAP net weaver 7.4. Any clue please. Please help me out.
