Change Maintenance Notification - Fields grayed out

Hi Experts,

When a user opens "Change Maintenance Notification" Fiori app, fields such as "Assign Order" and "Task List" are disabled. This user has a custom role we created. But a test user with standard SAP role planner role logs in, the fields are enabled. No auth fail for both users in the trace.

I couldn't get to the bottom of the issue on why it is working in standard SAP role but not in my custom role. I raised it with SAP and they have no other solution than to use standard role (Not sure if any customer in the world uses standard SAP role for productive use).

Apparently, there are two versions of Web Dynpro Layout Configurations for Order/Notification and SAP couldn't say how the system decides which version of the app to show to the user and how to provide access to a specific version of the layout configuration.

I tried below test cases till now,

Creating user with both Custom and Standard role - did not work (if the program checks for role name, then this case should have worked)

Creating user with Custom role + SAP_ALL - did not work (if the program checks for auth obj/value, then it should have worked)

Creating user with standard role + SAP_ALL - worked

Adding standard business catalog to custom role - did not work (if the program checks for catalog name, then it should have worked)

I'm trying more test cases, meanwhile, have anyone else faced this issue before and how you resolved?

Regards,

Jai

I would like to start analyzing it from the custom role build. See if the custom role build got OBN configuration.. and see what parameters we are passing, particularly the business object and method(here in this case) it should be edit. Also you can maintain the webdynpro component configuration id in the OBN configuration.

Second would be field controls if there are any implemented.

Third would be take the developers help to see if the authorization is handled program to control the features of fields in the webdynpro.
