Planning Application use cases

Hi experts,

I'm not sure whether my question is suitable for here or not, but I ask my question maybe someone had its answer.

My question is about the use cases of Planning Application. Is it just appropriate in the sales department or it is also applicable in other areas or departments of a company? And if the answer is yes, where and how? Does someone have one case or more to share with me?

I am researching on the BW IP and I want another example (examples) of the use cases of Planning Application other than the sales planning scenario.

Hi Amir,

BW IP is used by BW objects(e.g. infoprovider, aggregation level, infoobject, key figure). So if you have any data stored in/by BW objectS, BW IP can apply on it. There are some standard application leveraging BW IP technology(see note 2061419).

Thank you for your answer, but I want another business scenario rather than the sales planning scenario to complete my research.

I know that we can use the Planning Application in any Planning scenario, whether it is a sales planning or production planning scenario. The thing that I want to know is that maybe someone using the Planning Application in any other areas (rather than planning) and wants to share with us, and helps me to complete my research.

I understand from your answer that we can use it in any data sources, whether it's for planning or not, maybe we just want to change our data for some reasons. I am searching for a scenario that leads to this reason.
