Question Re: Show total row based on column value in Technology Q&A

You can filter on Category and exclude the value where equal to Plastic Bags.If you want to use still the actual values of Plastic Bags in total then apply nofilter() in total.

Hi,

I'm trying to create a report on a dataset. For some categories, a total should be created while others should remain untotalled.

For example:

Category socks: Actual

Total Category Socks: Sum(Actual)

Category Plastic bags for transport Actual

I'm looking ot hide the sum row within the table based on a condition such as where category = Plastic Bags

The table is a Matrix table which uses breaks to create the summation rows.

Thanks!

Look into "Value-Based Breaks". I assume your total is on a Break Footer row. Create a variable that indicates "Y" or "N" when a Break Footer/Total Row should appear. Then, set the Value-Based Break (on Category) to show a Break Footer when the variable is equal to "Y".
