Hi Krishna,

1. With OpenText Data Archiving for SAP Solutions:

Accelerate backup and recovery times

Reduce administrative and hardware costs

Decrease the time it takes to implement SAP upgrades

Ensure compliance and reduce risks by secure long-term archiving of SAP data

Improve system SAP performance, response time and system availability

Reduce administration effort and resource consumption of the SAP database

Instant access to historical data within your business context

Reduce total cost of ownership (TCO) of your SAP system

2. Connectivity to openText server will be established using OAC0 tcode where you have to maintain content repository name and HTTP url + port details and all that

3. I don't see any issues here. No post processing or re-configuration is required in such case. Works as it was before upgrade/migration of SAP system

Regards,

Prithviraj

We are having some doubts please clarify.

If we Use Open Text for archiving, what are the benefits we get. And how the connectivity will be established between SAP and Open Text Server. is it a simple RFC using SM59?

If some tables are archived and later if we migrate our Database and OS what would be the issue.

Thanks & Regards,

Krishna G.

Hi,

Could you kindly help me with a query

We are planning to upgrade and migrate our current s4hana 1809 version to s4hana 2021 hosted on HEC to public cloud , also the related opnentext VIM components are planned for upgrade. Is it possible to take a backup of opentext related data and restore at the target site or we need to go for repliaction strategy.
