Hi All,

I am very confused with the components listed in the first page of SAPINST (launched through SWPM). The first point says Netweaver, wherein later i find BS2010, BS2011, Solution manager and so on. I was able to install ECC 6.0 EHP 5 on a machine by selecting the options inside BS2010. Please tell me through SAP Netweaver options in SWPM what are we installing, we already have options for JAVA stack and ABAP stack in the BS2010 and BS2011, then what are we installing using SAP Netweaver support release.

In simple words when and why are we using SAP Netweaver options from SWPM?

Please help.

In simple words, you are installing a plain vanilla NetWeaver stack.

SWPM used in two different main scenarios in SAP NW

Scenario - 1. Normal fresh installation as already said by Srivastava,

Scenario - 2 Used for SAP System copy.

Hello Mrigank Aditya,

Under BS2010, you can find all applications that are part of Business Suite (like SAP ERP, SAP SCM). In your example, you installed a SAP ERP 6.05, which is based on SAP NetWeaver 7.02.

If you install a system using the option under "SAP NetWeaver 7.0x", you are going to install a pure SAP NetWeaver, without the application components.

For your reference, you can read SAP note below, which list all the components and versions that delivered during a fresh installation:

#330104 - Transportrequests used for language delivery // SRx

For instance, for a pure SAP NetWeaver 7.03, the following components will be installed:


SAP_BASIS 731: on SP00 level
SAP_ABA 731: on SP00 level
PI_BASIS 731: on SP00 level
SAP_BW 731: on SP00 level
ST-PI 2008_1_710: on SP00 level

Is this the correct SAP Note 330104 ,as 'm not able to open (getting Document is not released error). Please share the correct one.

Yes, this is the correct document. A new version was released yesterday. I believe when you tried to access it, it was under development. Now the note is active.
