Custom Translation of Fiori tiles not working

Hi all,

I am working on Custom transalation of standard Approve Purchase Order and Approve Purchase Requistion. I am using “Translating Custom Tiles, Catalogs, and Groups" explained under http://help.sap.com/saphelp_uiaddon10/helpdata/en/4c/9eb085d3884bdca468d7ec284be2e2/content.htm.

Reached a roadblock here..Let me tell you where I am at

1) Created Custom Catalog and Group for required Fiori Apps (Approve Purchase Order & Approve Purchase Req).

2) SE16 – Table WDY_CONF_USERT. Captured the Unique Config_ID's

3) Since our SAP Netweaver Gateway is at SAP_BASIS 740. So I am referring 00 Meta Objects – TABL Tables & Used the value help to search for *WDY_CONF_USERT2* in the Object Name field. When I select TADC - WDY_CONF_USERT2, it ends up showing me Object Name T512G table along with a lot of P series like P01C, P02C, P03C etc.

Confused on my next steps. I need to transalate "Approve Purchase Orders" and "Approve Purchase requisitions" in my Custom tiles to Spanish.

How do I do this ?

Hi Rajan,

Just trying to understand the business requirement here. Can't this be achieved in standard tiles. If the language is installed on your Gateway system and is configured in SICF nodes, it should appear in the login screen for your Fiori and thereby tiles would be translated in spanish.

Hi Rajan,

"Approve Purchase Orders" and "Approve Purchase requisitions" looks standard tiles texts and should be translated in standard in Spanish.

IS this the texts for your custom tiles? You could go to the translator editor and see if you already have translation for these texts by searching with the WD configuration for the catalog.

Hi Tejas, Pankaj,

When my users login to Fiori with English, I need the tiles to be as "Approve PO" and "Approve PR" and when they login as Spanish, the tiles should be as "Aprobar Pedido" & "Aprobar Solicitud de pedido".

In transalation editor (SE63) , I tried searching with the WD Configuration for Catalog.

Is the tile translation not changing to spanish version when user logins with spanish?

Can you please check in SMLT and confirm if spanish language pack is installed in SAP backend system ?

There was a similar issue resolved installing the missing language packs in SAP backend

Since we just wanted Approve PO and Approve PR, I created a custom catalog/group incorporating this two tiles. When I change the language to ES, the tiles still show as "Approve PO" and "Appprove PR".

Where can I maintain the custom translation and maintain both the languages ? I am not able to find the Catalog id in SE63.

Did a quick check in SMLT and we have English, German & Spanish in the backend SAP System.

We have English, German & Spanish installed in the Gateway System also.

I am able to find the catalog ids in SE16 - Table WDY_CONF_USERT.

Now Under SE63 - Translation - ABAP Objects - Short Texts, since we are at SAP_BASIS 7.40. Under 00 Meta Objects - TABL Tables.& Used the value help to search for *WDY_CONF_USERT2* in the Object Name field. When I select TADC - WDY_CONF_USERT2, it ends up showing me Object Name T512G table along with a lot of P series like P01C, P02C, P03C etc.

I am not able to find where I can do translation for the above custom tiles.

Hi Rajan ,

Did you also configure in gateway system for spanish language

1) Run T code SICF

2) Navigate to /default_host/sap/bc/ui5_ui5/ui2/launchpage

3) The screen looks as in the screenshot below

Make sure you are in edit mode and select configuration .

System Login Settings contains the languages option. If enabled , will be appeared in launchpad (or) can be changed in language option in Create and change service.

Can you please check here and confirm back .

Guys, found out that we had some missing translations to be imported in the backend. We did that and I was able to translate the texts from English to Spanish.

Now I am in the next roadblock. I need to assign this to a transport request.

The SAP documentation mentions "You can transport text table entries in Customizing for SAP Fiori launchpad in different languages using transaction CUS_ORIGLANG".

When I go to CUS_ORIGLANG, for table WDY_CONF_USERT2, I am not able to find SWDP_CONFIGURATION package with EN.

How do I transport the language translations ?
