Offline schedule Backup in inactive

Hi,

When i am going to schedule backup by db13, in that time offline backup mode is showing inactive & i can only take online backup. We are using db2 9.1 with active license but why is it showing inactive of offline backup. Please suggest us.

SAP ecc6

Hi Abhijit,

My understanding is we cannot schedule offline backup using db13 for DB2 database.

You may need to shutdown application & then take offline backup using db2 commands.

Hi,

I know that db2 database backup which will be done by db2 command level but we needed sap schedule backup along with company's data & it is proceed using by db13 in both way (online or offline). Earlier, we took backup in both way but after database migrating, it shows only active on online mode. Here, i have attached screen as follows.

Hi Abhijit,

Refer SAP Note 427982 - DB6: Offline backup ends with job error (DB13)

As per this note : Offline backup for db2 is not supported as of NW04s.

Actually, i found that offline backup mode is active on another server where, same OS and database only kernel different so i am just confirming that it will be seen same in both server. Please let me know why is this differences......

Above guide more information is there.

Run - command prompt to enter db2cmd

"db2 backup db sid to E:/db2backup
