Language selection with SAP SSO

Today I was asked by a user how will they select the system language with single sign on. Currently as people authenticate to the system, the system is in English by default.

Is there a way to allow users to select the system language they want to use with Single sign on ? How ?

Hello Fabio,

If you do not want to use the system default language then you need to select the user preferred language in SU01 --> Defaults for that specific user.

Hello Fabio,

From the NWSSO perspective, customer's can configure their Secure Login Client to login in other languages too by setting the windows registry:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Policies\SAP\SecureLogin\common]

The STRING Locale will set then the language. Possible values are:

en_US (English)

de_DE (German)

fr_FR (French)

it_IT (Italian)

ja_JP (Japanese)

pt_BR (Portuguese)

ru_RU (Russian)

zh_CN (Chinese)

-> This is described in section 4.3 From the Secure Login Client (NWSSO1.0 release) or section 5.1.1.1 from Master Guide (NWSSO2.0 release).

Thanks Nirmal and Guilherme.

I think your answers will address those users that always logon in a particular language but what I was really looking for was an option in which we could give the users an option to select the system language at the time of logon because IT would not be able to set these parameters by user.

Hi Fabio,

The Secure Login Client uses the User UI Language if set.
So a user can switch the langauge over the microsoft language UI in the control settings.

Of cause this will switch also all other applications to this language.

The Registry keys are only for overwriting these configuration by administrators.
Also additional the registry setting "locale" can also be set in :

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\SAP\SecureLogin\common]Locale

be aware that a also set HCLM/Policy setting will overwrite user registry settings.
