Error in test reports

Dear Consultants,

We have a contenent server for document management system to store office documents.Till now many documents are uploded some time taking few minutes time to open the drawings . So i checked techinical settings and run test programs(se38-->RSCMST) for content repository . Content server URL are running than why its showing error in RSCMSTH1.

I thought beacuse of this content server responding very slow. Please tel me where is the wrong.

Hi,

I dont think that this error is the cause of the slow performance.

For the slow performance please check what is the size of the doc and MAXdb server performance and the settings. Can you please explain more on where it is slow.

Is not related to slow process of system but it related to some programming error

Dear Rishi and Khaja,

Dms installed with contentserver 6.4 ,MaxDB 7.7 and database manager 7.6 . I have adoubt with ODBC drivers please find below screen shot.

System slow while displaying 5Mb of Autocad drawings. For storage we have more 500GB database size.

Hello

If the problem is with the Content Server performance then you need to check the MaxDB configuration.

First try to update the statistics of the database and see if that helps. You can do that from MaxDB database manager.

Secondly check the hit ratio of the cache.

I suggest to tune the MaxDB parameters based on this SAP note.

Hi,

Is this issue with the small doc also.

To add more suggestion can you please check what is the network bandwidth. Just try to calculate that how many users are trying to open the Autocad or other doc.

Try to check the data flow using http watch tool.

We are maitaing network bandwidth of 2MBPS. Now enginnering department users (num 5) are accessing attached drawings. After restart server its displays as much as quickly.

As you said issue because of small doc..till now uploaded only 24 drawings but it will shows exact total file size in bits at operating system level.

Try to check the data flow using http watch tool.

how can i check with http watch tool? can u describe about that.

Happy to see your suggetions.

I think not much configuration used for content server with Maxdb but help of database manager tool connected it will describing log area, data area...Database update statistics seted as automatically.

Database manager tool shows hit ratio is 100% plz refer screen shot.

After the restart its much quicker . Are you using Apache or IIS . See it can also be that the web service is crashing due to huge amount of data upload and download.(Just think like that web service is running out of memory)

Second thing to use the httpwatch to get the exact amount of the data flow. Try to run the trace when the open the drawing and then see the below coloum.

Dear rishi,

Your comments made me very active and hattsoff to you.

We are using IIS7.5 windows 2008 server . I willl try trace with httpwatch . We know that what ever uploaded file ( from R/3) will be stored in content server with encrypted format. Suppoese upoloaded 3 MB of file and sent to DMS server .Is any tool /How to find that file size on content server . Database manager will shows only intrems data area in % . I am unble to understand .

Sorry our discussion going away from the topic.

So for error in test programs we need to implement s-note or changes to be required as told above . If i avoid this error any effects in future .

Can try to see if you increase the caching option in IIS.

I am not aware of the MAXDB tools but should be sap tool to see where the doc are stored.

Like org data we can use organizer transaction.

Can also try and see if you increase the data cache memory in Max db.
