System users are not for general use, they are used for configuring connections [eg JCO connection user] which executes in background and doesnot require users to type password everytime. Error you are getting explains itself that for your requirement you should use dialog user.

Regards

Asif

I am afraid there is no way you can get Service users to login to Portal they will have to be dialog type. How were they accessing this transaction before you brought Portal into your solution ?
