Test automation script in Solution manager

Dear All,

We come across a client request to automate the test script with solution manager.

currently customer working on manula testing, they required to store the script and to automate the script from solution manager.

If any one has come across to automate the script through solution manager. please help us.

Dear Jyothish,

You have not mentioned the SAP Solution Manager Version that you are currently working on.

There are 3 options for Test Automation:

If you are on SP 07 + then you can opt for CBTA (Component Based Test Automation). The Test Scripts are recorded in SolMan and it is the lastest offering from SAP. The advantage that you get with CBTA is that the editing of Test script is easy and it work with CRM Web UI transactions along with SAP GUI transactions
If you are on lower version then you can go for eCATT. This is easy to start with but the only disadvantage is that the Test Script cannot be edited.
If you have SAP Solution manager Support Engagement Agreement, then you can also go for HP-QTP (2 licenses are free)

Apart from the above mentioned Test Automation tool, you can also have the advance benefits of using HP-QC along with SAP Solution Manager.

It is upto your customer preference and ease of functional team which tool to prefer for testing

Solution Manager is a test management platform so it support manual and automation both testing

if you want to perform full automation testing with solman then you have ECATT tool ..tcode SECATT ...which is fine for SAP transaction but a bit restrictive for browser applications

QTP is among the fav and many functional guys are aware of its usage ....if you are on SAP solman 7.1 version you can directly integrate with solman ...no need of HP quality centre

so choice is urs so check as per your scenario
