Hi,

I'm trying to install SAP Netweaver 7.4 with application server Java in Windows 7, and I received this message in the fase "Start Java Instance".

      An error occurred while processing option SAP NetWeaver 7.4 > SAP
      Sybase ASE > SAP Systems > Application Server Java > Standard System >
      Standard System( Last error reported by the step: Could not start
      instance service of instance DP1/J00.). You can now:

        Choose Retry to repeat the current step.
        Choose Log Files to get more information about the error.
        Stop the option and continue with it later.

Log files are written to

C:\ProgramFiles/sapinst_instdir/NW740/SYB/INSTALL/NW740/SYB/STD/

I'm stuck here.

I try to restart the application using the SAP Management Console but noting appear there.

I try to restart the instance in cmd sheel but I could not started.

this is the command that I used

c:\usr\sap\DP1\SCS01\exe\> startsap.exe name=SID nr=00 SAPDIAHOST=hostname

I have seen the note but the note indicate a problema with permissions. I'm using SO Windows, and the note tell us that Windows don't need special premissions because sapstartsrv.exe can work with the default information.

I have made what you suggested but the problema continues. Not really the some, because não in the sapmmc it appears the sap system and the host. But i can't make it online, and this is the reason to don't finish the installation. I'm stuck in the 53 task Start Java Engine.

Do you have other suggesten?

Hi,

I don't know if this print well you to understand what I might have wrong.

I receive the message NIECONN REFUSED - Connect to message server (sap/3900) failed.

I'm using Sybase Ase, Windows 7, and tryinf to install sap netweaver 7.4 based on Java.

Hi,

It might be that the port the message server is not freed up 3900 even the message service is not running.

So please use netstat to find it the port is still being used. Kill the service that is using the port .

Try to reboot the windows machine and see if it helps.

Do you have clustring? And this is the CI which is not coming up.

Please click on the As JAVA Thread does it looks green ?

Hi Rishi,

I use the niping to see if the server was working and i didn't have problems.

When i run netstat 3900 i receive the reply:

Active connections
TCP myip:49159 sapip:http TIME_WAIT

I have read one message with the some error that i and they say to change the default max heap size.

I will try this recommendation and after that i will reply to tell you if it work.

Hi again,

I have change the virtual memory, page size, active the saposcol service, have the last version of saphostagent, sapexe and sapexedb, but still in the same step of the installation.

here are two prints from the sapmmc that I think that can be the reason to the java instance doesn't start completely.

Acess Point - I dont' know why the server0 doesn't start.

AS Java Process Table again the server0 stay yellow for many time.

Hi,

Configure More RAM.
Reduce the heap/Perm of the instance in order it fits into the available physical memory.

Hi Leonor,

Try to the setting the following parameters in your config tool and restart the system and check whether it works.

Heap Size=512

-Xmx512m

-Xms256m

As well as I see Xms12288m is set wrong. Please set as said above and try to restart .

It should work.

F    arg[29] = -XX:PermSize=1024m
F    arg[30] = -Xmx12288m
F    arg[31] = -XX:MaxNewSize=4096m
F    arg[32] = -XX:MaxPermSize=1024m
F    arg[33] = -Xms12288m
F    arg[34] = -XX:NewSize=4096m

You need to modify all these parameters

Hello everyone,

I notice that the PAM for Netweaver 7.4 doesn't support installation in Windows 7.
I don't know if this is the reason. I will restart from the beggining but in another machine with SLES 11.

I will give this topic as assumed resolved.
