rec/client - Logging table changes

Hi,

What is the impact of activating rec/client - table auditing , parameter in a System

I have refereed to Note 139418 as well - Logging user actions.

It says, its possible to Logging table changes via tcode SE11

Is it possible to see the table count where the logging is enabled?

How can we found out the generated logs. Which table / tcode should i refer to?

Hi Zerandib,

Once you activate table logging using parameter rec/client , you may view the logs from transaction code SM19 and SM20.

To find details on the table records you need to ensure that table logging is active for that table.

Check Technical settings from SE11.

Hi Deepak,

rec/client is already activated in the system

I have checked sm20. But its not giving any logs/results

See the image attched. Any idea, why its not giving results. How to execute this transaction.

Can use DD09L to check the logging table

(LOG - X)

Hi,

If the parameter rec/client is set to a client number or ALL it will allow

changes to all tables that have the technical setting for logging changes:

SE11 -> Technical Settings -> tick the Log data changes

By default most of the customising tables have this setting active. It does

not make sense to have this setting on Transactional data tables.

The parameter REC/CLIENT when set to a particular client number or "ALL" - records changes to tables.

"000" records changes to tables in client 000 only

"ALL" - Records changes in all clients
