Can't run CmcApp / linux / websphere 7

Hello everybody,

I've just finished a new installation of BO XI 3.1 sp4 (linux / Websphere 7).

I deployed my CMC application (CmcApp.war) using websphere console and start it... but I can't run CmcApp in my browser.

With url : "http://gvavl1030003:9080/CmcApp/logon.faces" I have the following error message :

Error 500: com.ibm.ws.jsp.JspCoreException: Unable to convert string '#{logonbean.locale}' to class javax.el.ValueExpression for attribute locale: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: Property Editor not registered with the PropertyEditorManager

I saw somewhere the problem is due to jar files (jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar). I removed it from the CmcApp.war (WEB-INF/lib) and deploy again... but the error message still here.

Any help would be very appreciated.

How exactly did you deploy CMC app to the Websphere ?

The proper process is to pre-deploy war/ear files using wdeploy, then use WAS console to add those into WAS.

I didn't use wdeploy to predeploy the application.

So, according to you, if I want to follow the proper process, I have to :

- uninstall the application (CmcApp) with was console

- predeploy CmcApp.war with wdeploy

- and then use WAS console to add it in WAS ?

Please, let me know if the process is not correct.

CMC application consist of min 3 war files, CmcApp.war , CmcAppActions,war, PlatformServices.war ...

Ok Denis, (sorry for late answer)

I uninstalled applications from websphere (with console)

Then, I used wdeploy to predeploy the 3 apps you mentioned, and last, I add them into WAS using admin console.

Everything seems fine with BO servers (CentralManagementServer, ...)

Any idea ?

What command did you use to pre-deploy them ?

Were the ear files created ?
What is class loading policy on your WAS? (it has to be parent last)

The predeploy command I used : wdeploy.sh websphere7 predeployall

where "websphere7" is the configuration file for websphere 7 :

as_dir=/apps/WebSphere/AppServer7/

as_instance=localhost

...

Ok for class loading policy, it's parent last.

Considering ear files, they're created somewhere under websphere install folder

(/apps/WebSphere/profiles7/node/installedApps/consolecib3-intranet-recNetwork/CmcApp.ear)

wdeploy creates ear files in deployment/workdir/websphere7/application , you need to use those era files to deploy to websphere using console.

Ok, I was wrong...

After uninstalling (again) applications, I re-installed them with the good ear files this time.

The CmcApp url http://<hostname>:9080/CmcApp/logon.faces now gives me another message :

"SRVE0255E: A WebGroup/Virtual Host to handle /CmcApp/logon.faces has not been defined."

Maybe I missed something when I add these applications in WAS ?

I think this is due to WAS misconfiguration ...
When you were creating Application server did you set it so it can handle HTTP requests ?

I don;t have WAS console to check, but msaybe this links will help :

Ok, I found the place in WAS console to define virtual host for my applications.

And the message "Error 500..." appears again... Sorry !

Just to close this discussion, I post the SAP Support solution to solve my problem.

So, in order to solve this issue we need to follow the below mentioned

steps:

1. Go to the Websphere console (http://localhost:9060/ibm/console by

default) and stop :

# CmcApp_war

# CmcAppActions_war

# PlatformServices_war

2. Go to the Webbsphere installation Folder

INSTALLDIR/IBM/WebSphere/AppServer/profiles/AppSrv01/installedApps/Rh564 DB2XI33Node01Cell/CmcAppActions_war.ear/CmcAppActions.war/WEB-INF/lib

3. Delete the files jsf-api.jar and jsf-impl.jar

4. Delete all caches on the IBM Websphere installation

5. Delete all caches from the Broswer

6. Restart all applications :

# CmcApp_war

# CmcAppActions_war

# PlatformServices_war

and after that :

I would request you to follow the below mentioned steps further:

1. Log in to the WebSphere Application Server Administration console.

2. Go to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise

applications.

3. Stop the web application CmcApp, and click CmcApp.

4. Click Class loading and update detection from the Detail Properties.

5. Select Classes loaded with local class loader first (parent last)

from the Class loader order property.

6. Select Single class loader for application from the WAR class

loader policy property.

7. Click Apply.

8. Click Save directly to the master configuration.

9. Perform steps 2 through 8 for all remaining SAP BusinessObjects Web

Applications.

10. Go to System administration > Nodes.

11. Select all nodes.

12. Click Synchronize.

13. Remove the corresponding temporary class folders from the

following location.

[WAS ROOT]/profiles/[Profile Name]/temp/[Node Name]/[Instance Name]/

14. Remove the corresponding temporary class folders from the

following location.

[WAS ROOT]/profiles/[Profile Name]/temp/wscache/

15. Go to Applications > Application Types > WebSphere enterprise

applications.

16. Start the web applications.

And then I can run CMC.
