Transport control program tp ended with error code 0208

Hi Guys

Im facing an odd issue with transport system on my DEV system

On STMS, when i try to display import queue of QA or DEV itself, it shows error 208, Transport control program tp ended with error code 0208 Errors: error in transportprofil .

initial value of NLS_LANG: '<NULL>'

This is tp version 372.04.88 (release 700)

E-/usr/sap/PGT/trans/bin/TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL could not be opened.

EXIT

Error in /usr/sap/PGT/trans/bin/TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL: transdir not set.

tp returncode summary:

TOOLS: Highest return code of single steps was: 0

ERRORS: Highest tp internal error was: 0208

Nevertheless, I can display PRD queue without problems.

This is the content of TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL

TRANSDIR = /usr/sap/PGT/trans

DGT/CTC = 0

DGT/DBHOST = etgrws02

DGT/DBNAME = DGT

DGT/DBTYPE = db6

if i submit tp commands like showbuffer or connect there are NO errors. It returns code 0

tp showbuffer DGT pf=/usr/sap/PGT/trans/bin/TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL

tp connect DGT pf=/usr/sap/trans/bin/TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL

From QA and PRD, i can check all import queues from all systems without issues.

I have tried all the usual workarounds, checking authorization, checking DIR_TRANS, regenerate RFC connections, Update and DIstributed Configuration.

Also performed a consistency check, Transport Tool Check, communication check and everything is fine.

Kernel is up-to-date so is not an option to upgrade it.

Any suggestions on how to solve this?

Hi,

I think parameter TRANSDIR is not set correctly on your DEV system that's why you are facing this problem. Please check this parameter on your DEV system.

Hi Sunny.

I've checked TMS configuration for Dev, QA, and PRD, and all of them have the same TRANSDIR.

Even i have tried changing it to /usr/sap/trans which is linked to /usr/sap/PGT/trans and no luck

What its odd is that from PRD or QA, I can access all Queues; from DEV only i can acess PRD queue

Any other suggestion is highly appreciated

Hi,

What concerns me is :

E-/usr/sap/PGT/trans/bin/TP_ENTG_GTS.PFL could not be opened.

EXIT

Can you make sure that you can access the profile file with the <Dev>ADM, from the host of the DEV system.

There might be some issue regarding the way the way the mount-point is mounted (NFS, etc), or that the path is not accessible.

Do a transport directory check from systems overview.

Yes, It seems that the profile cannot be found, but I have accessed trans dir with DEV SAPADM ID and its working fine

Dear Martin,

Regarding the error faced by you kindly check that DIR_TRANS and TRANSDIR should ideally match and the specified location has been correctly mounted with proper authorizations. Check whether these are accessible from AL11 or not.

Indeed, DIR_TRANS and TRANSDIR are matched; both has /usr/sap/PGT/trans

Also, I followed your recommendation browsing the directories on AL11, and i was able to access /usr/sap/PGT/trans without issues

Dear Martin,

At this point in time i would suggest you to raise an OSS message with SAP in the component BC-CTS-TMS.

Also open the R/3 connection to the system.

Indeed, i have opened an OSS message so SAP support can take a look, but this still seems really odd.
