SEHException : External component has thrown an exception

All-

We are receiving "SEHException : External component has thrown an exception" error when we call the Open method on the ReportClientDocument.

Environment:

===========

1. Crystal Reports Server 2008 V1 on windows 2003 server

2. ASP.NET application in .Net framework 2.0 (references made to the new 12,0.. DLLs)

3. RAS with unmanaged reports

The code that was working fine in CR X1 Rel 2 environment is generating the above-mentioned error.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

See if [this|http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/system.runtime.interopservices.sehexception.aspx] MS resource helps and make sure you are configured to use the correct framework.

Hi-

After looking at the target runtime details of some of the DLLs, I think I should be using 1.1 rather than 2.0 Framework.

Can someone confirm this?

So, the problem is resolved.

For those of you grappling with this issue, i did the following:

I went back and read the RAS guide and found that i had to enable the Guest account. I did enable and then i gave the Guest account Full Access.

I was still getting the same error message. I then replaced the hostname with 127.0.0.1 and it did not work. Since this is being tried in a VirtualBox, i got the ip address 10...* and used that.

Bingo, it started working.
