Question Re: database icon unplugged in Technology Q&A

Yes it would seem to be backwards but to have an Icon with that much detail would need a lot of room. At least it shows something.

You should be able to delete if it's not used in any of the reports you have open. Close all reports and then try again.

Thank you

Don

database icon unplugged

I have several databases listed under My Connections on Crystal Reports 2008. Most of them have the normal yellow box for the icon. However, one of the icons is the yellow box with what looks like the unplugged end of a power cord. What does that mean?

thanks

Hello,

It's the one you are currently using or what CR has an active connection to. If you wait a while it'll likely go back to the box, CR will disconnect from the DB if it's not being used but we do keep the connection open so hitting the refresh button won't prompt you for log info again.

Thank you

Don

Seems strange that the icon is unplugged when connected. But ok. I just wanted to be sure that there wasn't some issue that would bite me later.

Right now I have 5 connections listed. 3 of them are not needed. I was having some issues with my odbc connection and ended up with duplicate connections. I would like to delete those, but the delete option is not available.
