Question Re: DB2 Restore using DB2 Control Center in Technology Q&A

Hi Rudi,

Sorry for the late reply. I was on a trip.

I hope this following reason might be the problem.

The control centre shows and finds the backup information which is related to the current system.

It does not have any information regarding the backup images that you took in other systems.

In this case you can restore that backup in a new system by choosing the option restore into a new database option/ existing DB.

I am not sure about the exact options, since i have used it some time ago.

There is an option like this in the control centre to restore the backup image into a new database. you have to use that option and then you need to specify where your the backup image is located. By this way you can restore the backup.

regards,

chandru

Dear Experts,

I tried to test restore database using DB2 control center after getting the backup image also using DB2 Control Center. When performing the restore wizard, in the selection of backup image list phase, it can not list the backup image (the list is empty), so we can not proceed the process without select the backup image file.

The database restore was performed in the different box. We did not find any issue when doing the restore on the same box.

Please advise.

Regards,

Rudi

Hi Rudi,

Are you trying to perform a system copy using DB backup...

In this case you may go for a redirected restore. You can find the relevant options in control centre.

Regards,

Chandru
