    <description>&lt;P&gt;Thank you Robert for your reply. What I am looking for is to read the sensor data input without using SCP services - that is just using SAP HANA Streaming analytics. Yes, I have gone through few blogs and hands-on tutorials explaining things on how to setup, but the 'test' of the project is always using manual data input. If it was a real-time scenario and if we had to read data from a real sensor, what should be done - by just using the sAP HANA Streaming analytics. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;As you can read through, the "Hands-on" tutorial as explained in Jeff Wootton's blog (https://developers.sap.com/group.sds-hxe-get-started.html) uses 'manual' data input during their testing of streaming project using "Run-Test" perspective.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Thanks again for your help!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;Hello all - &lt;/P&gt;
  &lt;P&gt;We have an IoT enabled sensor device that is successfully linked to SAP CP using IoT services (Ti - CC2650 is the device). We want to achieve the same using SAP HANA Streaming Analytics (without using any cloud services). I understand that we must use the Input adapter to capture the data from the streaming devices. Is there any guidance / documentation available on how to read data from the adapter without using IoT services? &lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;What protocol are you currently using to communicate with IoT Services? What format is the message/event contents using? For example JSON, CSV, etc. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you haven't done any hands on work with HANA streaming analytics yet, the I would suggest starting with a HANA Express instance and working through the getting started tutorials. That will familiarize you with many of the key concepts, then from there we can talk specifically about configuring an external adapter to run in unmanaged mode, which means having the adapter run on a separate machine outside of SCP and connect and publish into a streaming project running inside SCP. &lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This blog is a good starting point for using HANA Express: &lt;A href="https://blogs.sap.com/2017/04/20/new-in-sap-hana-express-edition-streaming-analytics/" target="_blank"&gt;Jeff Wootton  April 20, 2017 3 minute read New in SAP HANA, express edition: Streaming Analytics&lt;/A&gt;&lt;/P&gt;</description>
