Greetings,

I've been facing few issues in regards to Crystal report 2008 and Visual Studio 2005, I do very well know that crystal report 2008 has support for flash integration and xcelsius content in the report. I am in continuous flow of designing crystal reports with xcelsius content and mapping it with crystal data and I am successful enough to achieve this. But recently I have given up a challenge to merge my existing solution onto to visual studio 2005 sustaining the same look and feel.

I have a solution which is built on ASP.NET, rather I have used ASP.NET for crystal report website in visual studio to achieve the functionality. The solution contains the designed crystal report and works well when i launch an aspx page. But as soon I replace my current report with another crystal report which contains xcelsius charts and content, I receive an error but when i replace it back with the old one the aspx page loads the way it did before. I changed the web.config version to 12.0 from 10.2 using VSIM and the report opens well in VS 2005 but the flash content is not displayed.

There are multiple questions I am running into..

a) Do visual studio support flash integration with crystal.

b) Will I need to make changes in web.config for this to work

or there is any other possibility for this to work?

Your insight on this will be highly appreciated.

Hi,

Since you are using CR 2008 its recommended to refer to 12.0.200.0 dlls. Did you make sure that the reports, that are old and not working form .NET application, works fine from CR2008 designer?

Also please make sure that you are using 12.0 viewer version in your application.

Yes, I know for sure the reports which does not open in .NET opens up in CR designer, tht's where I made them all, also as you said that I need to use 12.0 viewer for this, I have no idea from where to change it. Do I need to use VS2008 for the viewer or there is any other way to change that in VS2005? Please let me know. Thank's for your input.

I figured out the solution myself, the only way thru which we can achieve the functionlaity of flash integration in .NET visual studio is by pasing "FlashControl.dll" file in "
windows\temp" directory and adding it to the VS 2005 toolbox. The flashcontrol.dll is listed under the bin in solution explorer. I debugged the application and could successfully load the report onto aspx along with flash content.
