Hello Neil,

You can change the Java Heap Space by setting the maxHeapSize property in configtool:

cluster-data -> template - template_javaee -> instance - IDxxxxx

Choose the 'VM Parameters' tab and edit the maxHeapSize property. After this, save and restart the system.

However it is recommended to set other heap properties too (like MaxPermSize, MaxNewSize). You can find recommendations for the values of heap parameters in the following documents according to your SAP NetWeaver version:

2548750 - AS Java calculated memory settings

723909 - Java VM settings for J2EE 6.40/7.0

Remember that You need to have physical memory coverage also. See the calculation here:

Hi Neil,

You can reach the Configtool from the "LocalDrive:\usr\sap\<SID>\<instnr>\j2ee\configtool" folder by starting the configtool.bat file.
