How to handle Multi Value Attributes?

Hello community,

I'm asking myself how to handle multi value attributes. I'm not much into them and can't find any tutorial how to handle them.

I choose multi value attribute and try to write some values in it and i expect something like "a|b|c" for the values a, b and c.

In the presentation tab i selected MultiSelect for the presentation.

But all I'm getting is an error with : "Value not legal for this attribute:...."

And this is my table for this attribute:

Am I right how to handle multi value attributes?

Hello Berkay,

did you enter some legal values on the attribute directly? Can you share a screenshot of the attribute configuration?

And how did you write the values into it?

Hay guys,

first of all you guys are awesome! Thanks for the quick answers.

At first i wanted to write data into a multi value attribute then process it. I'm on it to write a UI task to create your own scheduling rules for specific jobs.

I want to write / read the weekdays like in the scheduling rule.

It's like sunday = 1, monday = 2, tuesday = 4, wednesday = 8, ...

Now a user can pick a abitary combination of the weekdays and then a script or another process can add the sum of the weekdays for the entry of the mc_sched_rule table.

Like: Monday + Tuesday = 2 + 4 = 6. This tells us that the job will occur every Monday and Tuesday.

Now I want to process it in the background as numbers. That's why I took multi value attributes.

At first I used the the Value point for Leagal Attribute values:

Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday

The same error occurred.

Then I tryed an sql query to the mc_weekdays table.

The result wasn't satisfying, because an error occurred and the values in the attribute were over more rows.

Like: Monday (one row)

Monday|Tuesday (one row)

Tuesday (one row)

For the combination Monday and Tuesday.

The last tryout was the best one.

In this one I used Value Help. I defined my own 7 rows for all weekdays and the value for every day.

The value is correct for the attribute to precess it further on. (This error occurred for the values Sunday = 1 and Friday = 32)

But still the error occurred.

I hope I could make this more palpable.

Hello folks,

After describing my problem and working on it afterwards it worked!

I could write in the multi value attribute, then read the entire column with uSelect(); and split the values with the split method.

I could sum it up in an array but needed to parse the values to int with pareInt();

This should be it.
