Jump Query settings.

Hi All,

I have a problem with jump query.

I want to execute a query based on Equipment say for ex. A.

3 materials are displayed say for ex. M1, M2 and M3.

User wants to see other equipments for the above 3 materials M1, M2 and M3.

I have created another query for displaying equipments based on materials.

Now i want to jump from the first query to the second query.

But i want to display the equipments for the materials only in the first report.

In our case M1, M2 and M3.

Please some body suggest.

Hi,

You can create a RRI from TCOde RSBBS to jump to the second query.

Now in the first query, right click on the material header and select goto -> target query.

It will show data for all the materials in the first query.

HI I am aware that i can jump from one query to other.

But i want only the materials present in first report to be displayed in the second report, not all the materials,

Hi Prem,

Set the material as Delete in the asignments in RSBBS.

This will solve ur problem.

Hello,

When you right click on the header of the material column in the first report and choose to jump to the target query only the material selected in the first query will be pushed to the second query.

Have you tried this and were you not able to get the desired output.

if i click on a particular material it will display only that material.

if i click on material column it is displaying all the materials, which i dont want.

I want only the materials in the first report

I changed the settings of the material to deleted in RSBBS. It din't work.

Create a Varible for the Object Equipment and try !!!!!!

Hi,

In the first Query, you drog and drop Material in rows and then restrict it with M1,M2 and M3 Materials only then your First report displays only M1,M2,M3 materials, if you click on M1 then it will takes to second report and there you can see M1 details.

How to restrict: Right click on Material in First report and the restrict, then select your materal from list.

If i click on one material it will display only one material in the other report.

If i click on the material column then it is displaying all the materials which are not there in the first query also. I want only the materials which are there in the first report.

You need to have the characteristic "Materials" present in the jump destination query. Atleast put in free characteristics. Let me know if it is already there and still not working.

Material column is already there.

Second query is copy of the first query but only the order of fields is chnaged in the rows.

Hi,

Just u copy the existed report and add the equipment number in copied report.and do asu know in RSBBS first report as sender and the second report as receiver in bex open the 1st report and go to the second reort u can see for each material how many equipments are having

in second report the equipment number should be under the material number in rows.

What ever you told is correct!

I Agree!

But user wants to see only the materials present in the first report for ex.M!, M2 and M3. The query is displaying all the materials M1....M999, which the user dont want to see.

Hi Prem,

The receiver of a jump query is filtered with the variables and the filters from the sender query, not with the result values of the sender.

This explain the receiver reactions in your case:

1/ When you execute the Goto from the column material, the receiver is only filtered on the equipment value (A for example) and not with material values (M1, M2..) displayed in the sender query. So you have more materials in the receiver query than in the sender.

2/ But, when you execute the Goto from a material line, you filter the sender with a material value which is also used in the receiver query and you see only one material value.

I don't know automatic solution to filter a receiver with the result values from the sender, and I think no one is existing.

But "Yes, we can", do it like this:

execute the sender query, on the material characteristic used the option "Select filter value..." and select all your material values (M1, M2, M3...)

then execute the Goto and let me know if it work like you want

Hi Prem,

After reading all the posted messages, to me, it looks like instead of a GOTO, I would use a 'replacement path' query.

The way I see it, both queries are almost the same. So, If you change your receiver query and make it to your main query, add a replacement path variable for materials which would call your 'sender' query (adapted to return only required list of materials), this variable will contain exactly the list of materials you need and you would get exactly what you want.
