Distribute reports

Hello

Reports developed in CR 2008 SP0

Managed by CR Server 2008

I have created a data stack of

Data Connection > Data Foundation > Business Element > Business View > List of Values (LOV)

on the server

These LOV provide lists to the report parameters

There are apporx 150 reports

I have published all of these reports to the server

I can log in to infoview and view / schedule reports etc. The LOV have data.

I now would like to give all of this to a customer

The customer will install CR server 2008

I want to give them all reports

I believe that I will also need to give them the data stack (as described above) so that the LOV on the customer site will a) exist and b) provide data to the report parameters

I would like to know if anyone else has experience of a similar scenario.

What options are available for distributing reports from my dev system to a customer site.

Any info would be great, thanks

Hi Patrick,

I am not sure if the CR Server comes with the Import Wizard, but if it does you your use it to create BIAR files.

If not you have an export option in the Business View Manager which can export your LOVs to XML. These can be imported by the Customer at the other end. Reports can be published using the Publishing Wizard.

I should have a test environment ready by tomorrow and will test and let you know

But thanks also for the info, those 3 options look like they cover it

There is an Import Wizard in CR Svr 2008 so i can read up on that one too. Thanks

Alan, I am using the Import Wizard to create BIAR file that I then import. Very handy indeed, thanks for that pointer

Fritz, I had not found the Import guide before so that is a great help
