Incorrect ; placement #SAPHANA #SQLSCRIPT

Hi All,

I'm trying to create a table function in sap Hana.

the requirement is like I need to add an extra column and the condition is when the department name is 'IT' it needs to write Information technology in the new column etc.

I wrote the same code in SQL console it worked fine but in the table function its throwing error.

SQL Console:

Table Function:I tried removing; after from but it did not work.

Please let me know where am I doing a mistake. I know its easy for many people but I just started learning.

Florian, it is saying incorrect ';' placement. i tried removing it but still it is not working. Please check the screenshots i attached in my question.

can we use end as and end in the table fucntion?? i used the same code to check in SQL console and it worked fine i think i need to change so syntax in table fucntion.

Hm, in general it should work, and I see also no issue in your coding.

What HANA release you are using?

the code looks ok - have you tried a simple select statement to make sure you can activate the TF? if that works, then re-add your select statement. does you SAP HANA version supports the TF?

See if there is a data type mismatch between return table declaration.
