How to generate unique message id of length 10 character in sap pi, My scenario is from IDOC to SOAP

There is a constraint on the length of message id it should be 10 .How to do it in a udf

Hi,

As MessageId generated by PI itself it is not recommended to trim,still if you to want do so you can use substring function in message mapping after this udf to trim down the length to 10 char.

The best option is generate a range number of 10 digits in the system that generates the idoc through tx: SNRO and generates the ID in SAP ECC Backend and send it vía idoc.

It's the best option to ensure that you aren't generating duplicate ids.
