Hi

SAP has 2 primary components : the Integration Builder for the design and the configuration of an SAPXI integration scenario. and the Integration Server for runtime of the intergraiton scenario. The Integration Builder contains an Integration Repository for design purposes and an Integration Directory for configuration purposes

You use the Integration Builder to define and manage the objects in the Integration Directory.

Central tool for the design and configuration of the collaborative process. All the basic functions of the Integration Builder are described in this section. All subareas for design and configuration, and their editors (often graphical) in the Integration Builder.

Tasks

Use

You use the Integration Builder to perform the following tasks.

The object-type-specific tasks and functions are specified in the description of the relevant object type.

More information: Configuration Objects

Procedure

Make Personal Settings

Edit Authorizations

Define Work Areas for Grouping Your Objects. You can define folders and configuration scenarios to help you group your objects.

More information:

Creating Folders

Defining Configuration Scenarios

Display and Search for Objects

● Open Object

More information: Object Editor

● Searching for Objects

Edit Objects

● Object Editor

● Create an Object

● Copy an Object

● Edit Language-Specific Texts

● Call a Where-Used List

Manage Objects Changes

● Manage changes in change lists

A change list is automatically created for each software component version in which a user edits objects. All the objects in the software component version that the user is currently processing are displayed in the change list.

To structure your changes clearly, you can create any number of change lists for each software component version.

More information: Change Lists

Tasks for Problem Analysis

Object Checks:

· Checking a Single Object

· Checking Selected Object Sets

Analyzing Cache Notifications

Tasks Associated with SLD Data

Deleting SLD Data Cache

Special Tasks

Displaying WSDL

Also, it requires the IE to execute.

Please go through this link.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/0f/80243b4a66ae0ce10000000a11402f/content.htm

Hope this helps you.

Thanks

Saiyog

The Integration Builder provides you with an environment with which you can describe integration scenarios, integration processes, interfaces, and mappings independently of a system landscape. These objects are stored in the Integration Repository and are associated with software component versions that belong to a product that is to be shipped

Configuration Integration Repository:

At configuration time you set up a collaborative process for a specific system landscape. The configuration data is structured, organized, and saved in the Integration Directory in the form of configuration objects.

The Integration Directory is structured around the cross-system task areas.

pls do chk this links for more details

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/32/306c15d227ca458216529d7a0472ff/frameset.htm

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/32/306c15d227ca458216529d7a0472ff/frameset.htm

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/32/306c15d227ca458216529d7a0472ff/frameset.htm

yes we need a web browser to runIntegratoin Builder but it is not complusoin

if found worth pls do the req

Thanx

Sampath

HI

Integration Builder: A client-server framework for accessing and editing two stores of Shared collaboration knowledge.

The integration builder is the common tool framework for design and configuration time activities.

Integration Builder:	It is the central tool of XI, we use it at both design and configuration time. It creates design objects in the integration repository and configuration objects in integration directory. At runtime integration builder access the configuration in the integration directory to process inbound message. It saves executable design objects directly on the integration server to execute them at runtime.

The integration builder puts active object versions in the runtime cache. The cache is updated when ever you activate a change list in the integration directory or change list in the integration repository.

The integration builder allows us to work with objects in both repositories in a consistent way, with a consistent interface and a common look-and-feel.

The integration builder is a Java application. On the client side it provides the user interface for working with XI objects. On the server side it offers services for authentication, lock management, import and export of interface objects etc.,

Because the client applications (Integration Repository and Integration Directory) are u201Cfatu201D clients, Java Web Start is required. JWS is a caching application for Java clients. (Download once and store locally).

The Integration Builder provides the editors for each object type in the Integration Repository. These are Java based graphical tools.

Process Editor.........>Business Process	(BPEL)

Mapping Editor.........>Mappings	(XSLT, Message, Java)

Condition Editor........>Context Objects (XPath Expression)

Data Type Editor..>Message Interfaces, Data Type,Message Type

T-CODE:

SXMB_IFR - Start Integration Builder

Refer the below links for further assistance

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/32/306c15d227ca458216529d7a0472ff/frameset.htm

cheers

The Integration Builder is a consolidation of the two key interface development components in XI: The Integration Repository and the Integration Directory. These components are used throughout design and configuration. Moreover, these areas work together to ultimately define all the remaining objects for interfaces within XI. These components build their objects based on WSCI (Web Service Choreography Interface), WSDL (Web Service Description Language), XSD, XSLT (XSL Transformations), and Java.
