Exporting to CSV includes hidden sections

When I export to CSV format, the export file includes data from hidden sections in the report. If I print the report or export in any other format, it works correctly. I am using CR XI. The report format is simple, just two group summary sections on the same group. One is hidden based on a report parameter. Both are hidden if the SUMmed field is 0. All other sections are suppressed. Anybody have suggestions?

Hasn't anybody seen this behavior? I've seen at two different locations using CR XI so it's not just a random problem. Or is this the standard way that CSV export works (i.e. all conditionally suppressed sections are included in the CSV export file whether the suppress condition is met or not)?

Brad - sounds like this is the designed behavior:

"Like record-style formats, the Separated Values format also creates one line of values for each record in your report. A record contains all of the fields in each section of your report as seen in the Design view. That is, fields in the Report Header section are exported first, followed by the Page Header section, the Group Header section, the Details section, the Group Footer section, the Report Footer section, and finally, the Page Footer section."

I think it isn't designed behavior. If bands are explicitly suppressed, the fields in those bands are not exported. But if a band is conditionally suppressed, the fields in those bands are always exported whether the band happens to be suppressed or not. None of the other export formats do this. I think the "one line of values" statement simply means that all values that are exported are put on one line as opposed to separate lines of data for each band.

After doing other searching on this bug, I've found that there are many developers that have this problem. CR XI R2 supposedly fixes the problem but I haven't downloaded it yet because it is a very large file and I'm also not ready to resolve compatibility issues that it may cause.

I'm facing the same problem in CR XI. Conditionally suppressed rows get exported while exporting it into CSV. This was the problem till CR10 and I was expecting some fixes in CRXI. But behaviour remains same using CRXI. I'm avoiding to use CRXI R2. Isn't there any patch available for this??
