adobe form not saving data.

hi Experts,

I am facing strange problems with Adobe forms.

I am working on both Offline and online adobe forms.

adobe form which i make does not allow to save data.

I am using the Adobe liveCycle designer 7.1.

The Adobe reader version is 7.08

and service pack is SPS 11.

I have used both the tutorials for offline and online adobe forms.

Online Problem :-

The project for online works fine and it also allows to save data(when i save the form on my PC).

But when i create a new form on my machine it does not allow to save data.

Really confuse what the problem is.

I have also tried this.

Copeid the XDP file from the Online tutorial project into my project

if i use this work around the the problem is resolved. But i am no able to understand why the XDP CREATED on my machine does not work.

Offline problem:-

In this case i am not able to save data in the form at all.

As the PDF created itself not allow to save data.

Please help.

Hi Sanjyoti,

How are you generating the PDF files? Are u using Webdynpro Java to genarate the form? Can you please send me the offline PDF form which you have generated and saved to your local machine in the following ID p_satya123@yahoo.com.

Send me the PDF soon. I will check and let you know what could be possible problem.

Also tell me how are you generating the PDF using Adobe Lifecycle designer.

I think i got your problem. Just tell me are you getting any message while saving data

to your PDF files?

thanks for your support,

my online works fine problem is with offline.

I want the project to work this way :-

1 > Online Form opens

here the employee can either

fill the form or download the form by clicking in the save button.

2> After he has saved the form on his PC he can open it and fill it.

Now,

Till this all works fine but when i open the form saved on my pc it opens ALLOWS me to save the data but when i close and open this pdf again the data is gone.

I have tried this same with the PDF send by u but it too does not save data on my PC.

Please help.

Hi Sanjyoti,

Please do a small test with the PDF file which I have sent to you.

Please tell me whether the first text attribute on the form i.e Amount Payable is filled with 1234567 or not.

If it is filled with 1234567, then change it and try to open it gain.

Please reply me ASAP.

Hi Sanjyoti,

The reason why you are not able to save data is because you have not mapped the Text field any data source.

The form which I have sent to you.. if you try to open it you will see there are some fields already filled i.e 1st and 2nd text element from the top.

I have done changes only to two or three attributes but not to others. hence it is not working for other fields but you can save data for the two fields. even if you will close and open it, you will notice data is saved in the PDF files.

The main reason is data mapping. I have done the data mapping for first two fields and you have to do for others.

please refer to the xdp files which I have sent it to you and refer to Object - Binding properties - Default Binding properites of the Text attributes you will definitely find the answer.

Please reply me back if you have any doubt about anything.

I am also having the same scenario. I have a dynamic table, and when I add a row at run time, the data in previous row in repeated in new row also.

Hi Satya & sanjyoti,

I am facing a pecular problem in using Adobe forms.

I am able to pass data from webdynpo application, to the Interactive form(using mappings, as mentioned by satya).

But for the same form & WD application, i am not able to pass data from the Interactive Form, back to the WD application.

My scenario is like this:

I need to show a form, with some prefilled data, such as date, userID, etc. I populate the node in my WD application, & then call the form.

The form displays the above prefilled data. Now the user has to fill the remaining fields & click on submit(Submit-to-sap button). The onsubmit property of the Interactive form is mapped to a onaction event, where WD tries to read the data entered by the user.

The problem is that on clicking of the submit button in the form, the event is not getting called.

If i use a button in the WD view itself, then the action gets called, but there is no data. In short, the data is NOT getting passed from Interactive form to WD application.

Can you please help me out with this?

hi,

as i understood the "submit" button on your interactive form does not work ?????

you need to install the two s/w "XACF" and "SVGView"

on every PC where you will use the interactive forms

If you need the s/w pls send me your id i will forward it to you.

Hi,

I have already installed XACF, the latest one from the SAP notes..

But i am not clear why we need to explicity install the two s/w because, according to sap notes, if you have NW7.0 SP11(which we have) & higher, then sap itself installs the requisite s/w on every pc where the application is run for the first time.

If it is a *.exe file, then kindly remove the .exe extension & zip it, so that it does not get blocked as a potential virus.

Hi,

The problem was the XACF version installed on my pc. I upgraded it to the latest version, & the problem is resolved, partly.

But now the problem is reversed.

Now on clicking of the button, i can pass value from InteractiveForm, to the WD application.

But now i am not able to pass value from WD application, to the Interactive form.

My scenario is as follows:

There is one view. It has one container & interactive form.

The container contains input fields. Both, the input fields & the InteractiveForm, are mapped to the same context node.

There is one button in the container, & another in the Interactiveform.

After updating the XACF version, the porblem i am now facing, is that:

The context node contains only those values, as are present in the form. If i update the values in the WD input fields & click the button, the values get changed to the values present in the InteractiveForm!!!!

The values changs are possible only if i change the values in the Form itself.
