SAP Web AS Java Installation Error return code 29

Hi,

I am installing SAP Web AS Java.I face this error at the second task during installation process with return code 29.Here is the error when I see the log.

ERROR 2007-12-09 20:27:52

MUT-03011 Execution of the command "C:/DOCUME_1/ADMINI1/LOCALS~1/Temp/sapinst_exe.3356.1197259689/SAPCAR.exe '-x' '-v' '-g' '-i' '-n' '-R' 'SCS.SAR' '-f' 'C:/Dump/SAP Netweaver 04 (Support Release1, SAP WebAS Java, NetWeaver Developer Studio ,IGS)\SCS_NT_I386\SCS/NT/I386/SCS.SAR,'" finished with return code 29. Output:

I thought it may be a problem with java and checked the path for Java and I hope I did it correctly.Can anyone of you please help me overcome this error.

Hi,

the return code 29 of 'SAPCAR' just means 'no archives specified

for extracting' / 'no filename(s) specified' .

There are a few possible sources for such an issue:

1. You copied the cd to a local destination but something went wrong,

so not all required archives are available .

-> Recopy the CD-files or start the installation directly from

scratch from CD.

2. You are lacking privilleges on the installation server.

The installation-user does not have all required privilleges

either in the domain (domain-installation) or locally.

Hello Sudheer,

I would guess that the problem is caused by the spaces in the path to the archive. Try moving it to a shorter path c:\temp or something with no spaces.

This should resolve the problem,

Me too agree with David, The path C:/Dump/SAP Netweaver 04 (Support Release1, SAP WebAS Java, NetWeaver Developer Studio ,IGS)\SCS_NT_I386\SCS/NT/I386/ is pretty big!

You might want to move everything to something like:

C:/Dump/NWDS\SCS_NT_I386\SCS/NT/I386/
